Everything You Need to Know
About Being a Presenter at
Falcon Connection Day
Thank you again for requesting more information about our next Falcon Connection Day on  Monday, October 28 , at Catalina Foothills High School.

Falcon Connection Day helps students explore the many different paths out of high school. Twice a year, we invite over 40 different alumni and community leaders to give our students some insight into their work as they trace their journey from their Foothills days to present.

Because many of our students are interested in going into your field, we would love it if you would share your story from CFHS to present. Would you be willing to speak to around 40 students? We ask that you arrive by 9:30 to allow us time to escort you to your classroom. The session will run from 10:05-10:35.

If you will not be in Tucson at this time, we can arrange for a live videochat through Google Hangouts or Skype (due to bandwidth limitations, we can offer only four videochats per Falcon Connections event).

To help give you a headstart on your preparation, I've attached a Falcon Connections Presenters' Guide with more information.  We aren't looking for professional speakers; we're looking for graduates who will constructively share their life lessons with students.

I f you agree to speak, please send me the title and a short (250 character max) description of your talk by Wednesday, September 18 , along with a couple of lines about your current work and your experience at Foothills. We will include the description of your talk and a short bio about you in the sign-up link that is sent to our students.

Here's an example:
Title: Make Life Fun, Be an Engineer
Description:  The decision to become an engineer can be riddled with questions, “Do I really like math THAT much?!” “Am I smart enough?” “Do I like sleep?” Addressing these realities is essential, says Foothills grad Fred Falcon '11.
Bio: Fred Falcon '11 is a project engineer at Raytheon Missile Systems.  He earned his Bachelor's of Science in Materials Science & Engineering from the University of Arizona. During his senior year at Foothills, he was the national STEM Challenge Grand Prize winner.

If you have any questions along the way, let me know. I'm here to make this a great experience for you and our students.

Cheers,
Julie Farbarik
Director of Alumni & Community Relations
