Remembering First Lady Rosalynn Carter
We were very sad to learn the news on Sunday, that Mrs. Rosalynn Carter had passed away. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends and by the millions that she touched with her work to improve mental health services, human rights, advocating for peace, disease prevention and much more. She will be remembered by many for the exemplary way she represented the United States while she was First Lady and for decades afterward alongside President Jimmy Carter for over 77 years.
Our Coalition Leadership has long been inspired by her work and we will continue in partnership with our many great partners to honor her legacy.
We encourage you to view and read the many remembrances on the links from The Carter Center (see button below) and view a video which highlights the history of Mrs. Carter's work alongside Vaccinate Your Family (formerly known as Every Child By Two) co-founder and dear friend Betty Bumpers.
From the Carter Family:
“Besides being a loving mother and extraordinary First Lady, my mother was a great humanitarian in her own right,” said Chip Carter. “Her life of service and compassion was an example for all Americans. She will be sorely missed not only by our family but by the many people who have better mental health care and access to resources for caregiving today."
