SPECIAL ALERT:
Gov Hogan Announces Resumption of Non-Emergent Care
May 6, 2020
Dear MedChi Members and Maryland Physicians:

The new health care order outlines the necessary requirements for medical facilities to resume non-emergent care, including adequate supplies of PPE, continued social distancing and enhanced sanitation measures, COVID-19 symptom screening, and, above all, the professional judgement of licensed health professionals.

In his announcement, Governor Hogan noted the promising downward trend in hospitalizations and the plateau of ICU cases in the state. If these trends continue, Maryland will move toward the first phases of the administration's reopening plan. MedChi is pleased with the decision to begin now with re-opening medical facilities for non-emergent care.

If you have questions about reopening your medical practice, please don't hesitate to reach out. While this is a very positive and promising development, we are still operating with extreme caution, and we are still here for anything you need.
Thank you for all that you do as physicians, healers, and heroes.
