Lavelle Law Welcomes Two New Attorneys

to the Firm

We are pleased to announce that Lavelle Law continues to grow with the addition of two experienced Chicago-area attorneys: Colin H. Gilbert, joining as Partner, and Joan P. McMillian, joining as Associate. This growth brings our total number of attorneys to 39. Colin and Joan both have varied skill sets and a commitment to collaborating to find the best outcomes for clients. Lavelle Law will be stronger with their presence, and our clients will benefit from their experience.

Colin H. Gilbert

Colin focuses his practice on real estate, creditors' rights, mortgage foreclosures, business, and estate planning and administration. He brings two decades of legal experience to the firm, along with deep roots in the Arlington Heights community, where he currently serves as a Village Trustee. Colin holds a J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law, with a Certification in International and Comparative Law, and a B.S. in Speech Communication from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. He is admitted to the Illinois Supreme Court and the U.S. District Court for the Northern, Eastern, and Southern Districts of Illinois.

Beyond the law, Colin is deeply engaged in the Arlington Heights community. He serves as a Board Member of the Arlington Heights Youth Athletic Association and the John Hersey High School Feeder Athletic Association, and as a Commissioner for the Arlington Cardinals Travel Baseball program. He is also a Founding Board Member of Gerry's Café, Inc., which provides employment opportunities to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and previously served as President of the Arlington Heights Chamber of Commerce.

"I'm excited to join Lavelle Law because of the firm's outstanding reputation, collaborative culture, and commitment to providing exceptional service to clients. I'm looking forward to continuing to grow my practice while serving clients alongside such a talented team."
