Inspiring Faith, Stewardship and Community in God's Creation.
Announcement from Luther Crest
After fourteen years and four months, as of July 1, guiding Luther Crest, I have informed the Board of Directors that I will be completing my time at Luther Crest as of December 31, 2022.

I joined the staff of Luther Crest in March of 2008.  At that point, I saw Luther Crest gearing up for incredible growth in overall programming, site development, fundraising, and mission accomplishment.  Along with hundreds of staff, an astonishing number of experienced volunteers, and generous congregations and donors, Luther Crest has accomplished an incredible mission plan.

Luther Crest's mission is to inspire faith, stewardship, and community in God’s Creation. Our decisions to build buildings, renew spaces, add, or subtract programs or offerings, staff, serve food and raise money, are all framed by Luther Crest's mission statement.

This focus on the mission will carry Luther Crest through this executive leadership transition and propel this organization into its next phase of ministry life.

Thank you to the board members who walked with me through this journey and led this organization with purpose, faith, and grace.

Thank you to our staff.  Your steadfast commitment to the work to share Jesus’ love and grace, your willingness to try and succeed, and your grace and forgiveness when things did not go right.

Thank you to our donors.  Thank you for the over nine million dollars you entrusted and gave to our organization over the last fourteen years.  You have given us the opportunity and sustenance needed for each phase of Luther Crest’s ministries.

Thank you to our campers, families, and congregations.  You are the reason Luther Crest exists.  You gave your kids the opportunity to experience Jesus’ love through our summer camps, programmed retreats, worship services, family reunions, and weddings to give light and life to your faith in Jesus Christ.

Over the last fourteen years, I, along with my family, have been blessed to be a part of the family of Luther Crest!  It has been a joy and an honor to serve with such incredible people and a great organization.

I will be retiring from outdoor ministries and beginning a new career in sales and marketing in an organization that recruits world-class music and dance artists and connects them with concert associations throughout the Midwest while remaining in Alexandria.

I look forward to being a part of Luther Crest’s future differently and seeing its inherent ability to be missional and faithful to the work God calls Luther Crest to do.

In faith, we will celebrate the work we did together, all for the glory of God!  Soli Deo Gloria.

Dave Holtz, Executive Director

The Luther Crest Board of Directors, along with Dave and the staff have begun the work of establishing a succession plan for Luther Crest. We will keep everyone posted throughout our Luther Crest Network as items develop. Let us give thanks for God's work through and with Dave while being our Executive Director.

God's Peace
