Special Announcement
2021 Tour of Homes

June 3, 2021

This year’s Tour of Homes will again be virtual!

Three unique properties will be showcased - the homes of Polly and Richard Gambill, Jeff Roberts, and Jean and Otis Sawyer. Given the current information from public health officials and the need to plan in the weeks ahead, we determined that in-person contact in transport vehicles and on-the-lawn activities could pose a health issue, as our state’s current COVID-19 vaccination level is currently at 46 percent. Each of the homeowners has graciously agreed to a virtual tour, and the 2021 Tour video will include a number of additional features that you will enjoy viewing.  In addition, we plan to have an online Tour Auction, highlighting desirable items on which to bid.

The Tour has netted between $62,000 - $80,000 annually over the last three years to support area non-profits. Through a grant process, all applying organizations received support, including Blowing Rock CARES, Blowing Rock school, Casting Bread, Community Care Clinic, Hospitality House, Hunger and Health Coalition, Life Village, and Oasis.  Because of the community’s generosity, these agencies have been able to feed the hungry, clothe those in need, provide shelter, offer educational resources, and fund safe havens for battered women. Organizations supported by the Tour continue to experience tremendous strain as they respond to the needs of our community.

Here’s how you can give:
  • Check payable to St. Mary of the Hills   Note: “Tour of Homes” in your check memo line. Mail to: P.O. Box 14   Blowing Rock, NC 28605
  • Or, visit stmaryofthehills.org/tour and donate to the Tour of Homes on a secure site.

Your generous tax-deductible gift will help us continue to fund area non-profits providing essential support to those in need in the High Country. Without your help, we won’t be able to fully fund our annual grant program, with a resulting reduction in services provided to the populations served in the upcoming months.

Won’t you please embrace the spirit of community to make a difference in the lives around us?

Thank you for your thoughtful gift of hope.
