Dear FHUSD Families,
As is well known by now, the Governor Doug Ducey along with Superintendent of Public Instruction Kathy Hoffman announced the statewide closure of Arizona schools from March 16th through March 27th. With this action there are many current unknowns regarding continuing learning opportunities, employees allowed to come to work, making up lost time, impact on graduation, and numerous other conditions.
It is also very challenging sending out community wide communications as the guidelines and recommendations from federal and state government and health service agencies are continually changing. FHUSD will strive to post updated and reliable information on our website, district Facebook page, and other district-wide formats to keep everyone informed.
We are immediately focused, however, on the provision of a student breakfast/lunch program.
FHUSD will be providing FREE breakfast and lunch for any child/student from Pre-K to high school beginning on Wednesday, March 18th at Fountain Hills High School.
The child or student must be present to receive the meal. Staff will be on site to distribute pre-bagged meals in a drive through and pick up process. A community message will be sent Tuesday, March 17th with specific details. The details will include date, time of pick-up and a map for routing traffic through the high school. Please listen and watch for a district-wide phone dialer, text message, and emails for the specifics.
Thank you for your cooperation during this time.
Sincerely,
Robert Allen, Ed.D.
Superintendent
