EIGHT CANADIAN MUNICIPALITIES WIN NATIONAL AWARDS OF EXCELLENCE FROM CAMA


Banff, AB (June 5, 2024) – Eight Canadian municipalities have won national awards of excellence from the Canadian Association of Municipal Administrators (CAMA). The awards were presented in the areas of innovation, environmental leadership and sustainability, inspiring workplace, and collaboration during an Awards of Excellence Ceremony in Banff as part of the Annual Conference.


Winning efforts included a new wastewater treatment plant, a forestry services request project, a water loss reduction program, a reuse program, a “People First” employee program, a “People Plan” focused on creating an inclusive, collaborative, and positive workplace culture, a City Hall / affordable housing project, and a regional transit system.

The following municipalities and projects were recognized, in four categories:

  • City of Vaughan, ON, Over 100,000 Population Category, Innovation Reduces Wait Times for Forestry Service Requests


2024 CAMA Environmental Leadership & Sustainability Award

  • Town of Lincoln, ON, 20,001 to 100,000 Population Category, Water Loss Reduction Program
  • Strathcona County, AB, Over 100,000 Population Category, HodgePodge Lodge – Strathcona County’s Reuse Program


2024 CAMA Municipal Inspiring Workplace Award (New for 2024. Replaces the Professional Development Award category.)

  • Town of Innisfil, ON, 20,001 to 100,000 Population Category, People First, Our Best Investment
  • Strathcona County, AB, Over 100,000 Population Category, People Plan


2024 CAMA Collaboration Award
