GREETINGS FROM OUR EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR & BOARD CHAIR

Seeking justice is a lofty goal indeed. But this is what our team does, day in and out, for thousands of older adults who are facing devastating crises most of us will never know. Imminent homelessness. Raising grandchildren or great-grandchildren when adult kids cannot parent. Violence, abuse, neglect in our own homes. Financial exploitation. Poverty. All in older age. Our clients are 60 to over 100 years old, presenting diverse and unique experiences, journeys and needs.

We've grown immensely from a little shop in donated space in 1978 to a diverse and talented legal aid staff of 50+ attorneys and advocates with multiple sites and a statewide and national presence. Our legal services benefiting over 14,000 older adults, community education, and systemic advocacy – including helping to create a new right to counsel for those facing guardianship and the loss of fundamental rights – have powerful impact.

These are harsh times to grow old in America. Senior hunger, homelessness, and poverty are on the rise in this land of abundance. We can do better by those upon whose shoulders we all stand and to whom we owe so much. We are grateful for the countless contributions and achievements of older Americans and their rich lives – they built and served this country and raised their families and their voices. We value their presence in our lives and communities and stand fiercely against ageism, paternalism, and stereotypes. And we thank you for being extraordinary partners in this hard but essential work of justice. Without your support, we would not be able to pursue our important work of seeking justice and advocating for thousands in need. Onward!

CELEBRATING OUR 2024 IMPACT

Our 2024 Impact Report is Now Live!

We’re excited to share our 2024 Impact Report with our friends, supporters, partners and communities.

From protecting homes from mortgage foreclosure and defending tenants’ rights, to preventing elder abuse and supporting grandparents who raise their children, SeniorLAW Center served over 14,000 older adults and legal and aging services professionals across Pennsylvania last year. We had numerous advocacy wins, including helping the residents of Brith Sholom House raise their voices in their calls for the City of Philadelphia to purchase their building to save it from disrepair and closure and the successful creation of a new right to counsel for those facing guardianship through Act 61 after over a decade of advocacy. We couldn't deliver these powerful outcomes without a community of supporters made up of people like you.

Check out the impact that we made together.
