Calling All Residents: Support Local Businesses This Holiday Season

Wilmette businesses are an integral part of our community and they could really use our support! The holidays are an important time for local shops, restaurants and services, and they need your help now.

Over the past 10 months, Wilmette's small businesses have faced unprecedented challenges due to COVID-19, which continues to threaten their very survival. Additionally, our downtown business community has been disrupted by construction. Our vibrant business community is a large part of what makes Wilmette a special place to live, work and play - just imagine Wilmette without the shops and restaurants downtown or any of our other shopping districts. And remember, when you shop local, more of your money stays local, supporting jobs and investments in our community!

We understand times are tough for many and ask for increased support for our local shops, restaurants and services in any way you are able

How Can You Help?
  • Make a pledge to eat out or order carryout/delivery once a week.
  • Make a pledge to buy local for your holiday gifts, decor and apparel.
  • Check out local holiday events and participate: wilmetteonomics.com/holiday
  • Help spread the word through social media and word of mouth, sharing your local actions and experiences.
Good news! Central Avenue construction has ended for the season and the sidewalks and streets downtown are free and clear again. Street parking is available for shopping and curbside pickup.
We want to thank each and every one of you who is rising to the call and choosing local when you shop, dine and enlist services. Our efforts now can help protect what makes Wilmette unique and vibrant. We are all in this together so now more than ever, let's come together as a community and support our local businesses and each other!
