Conservation Nebraska Virtual Event
|
|
Join Conservation Nebraska and guest speaker Max Markuson DiPrince, as he discusses the concepts of modern solar technology research and development. Markuson DiPrince’s research at Creighton University Department of Physics focuses on a specific type of solar cell, called a Dye-Sensitized Solar Cell (DSSC), which offers a more sustainable alternative to the conventional silicon crystal solar cell in today’s markets. By utilizing more earth-abundant, organic materials, such as simple sugars, he is attempting to convert UV light to a more “usable” visible spectra to boost his device efficiency. Register Here
NFS Note: Nebraskans for Solar's Board is honored to have had Max as a fellow member for nearly three years. Creighton University Professor Dr. Andrew Baruth has been a mentor to all Creighton students who have served on our board the past eight years.

Arbor Day Farm in Nebraska City
The Arbor Day Foundation recently celebrated the reopening of their restaurant at the Arbor Day Farm in Nebraska City. During the remodel, they added solar to their apple barn processing facility to help offset electrical costs for the facility. This system is a 24.8kW roof mount project consisting of (62) Talesun 400W modules paired with a Chint Power Systems 25kW inverter. When visiting the Arbor Day Farm, be sure to check out the system performance in their viewing room of the Apple Processing Center.
