After two years of dedicated leadership, Lovejoy ISD Superintendent Dr. Michael Goddard announced on Monday, February 22nd, that he will be leaving LISD to assume the role of Head of Schools for Prestonwood Baptist Church and Prestonwood Christian Academy.
“During his leadership, Dr. Goddard’s passion and commitment to our students, teachers, and the entire community has inspired, united, and elevated all of our Leopards in achieving new heights,” stated Chad Collins, Lovejoy ISD School Board President. “We are forever thankful for his leadership, vision, and the collaborative foundation he created that will ensure Lovejoy ISD’s continued excellence.”
Under Dr. Goddard’s leadership, Lovejoy ISD scored as one of the Top 100 Places to Work by The Dallas Morning News (Goddard Named Top Large Company CEO), won an 8th State Volleyball Championship, was named a US News and World Report Best High School, embarked on the first-ever Lovejoy ISD strategic plan, and achieved numerous academic and fine arts accomplishments.
With a continued bright future ahead for Lovejoy ISD, the Board of Trustees will hold a Special Meeting on February 26, 2021, to consider the Superintendent search process, including but not limited to, accepting the Superintendent's resignation, selecting a search process, and identifying an interim Superintendent. The meeting will begin at 4:00 PM with the Board retiring into Closed Session in the Lovejoy Elementary School Music Room. The meeting agenda can be viewed here.
The Board will return to the Open Meeting at 5:00 PM in the Lovejoy Elementary School Gym.
