We were made aware that there has been a case of chickenpox on the Sloan Creek campus this week.
District maintenance personnel have disinfected all student desks, tables, light switches, door handles, classrooms, library, corridors, restrooms, lockers, offices, cafeteria, and gym areas.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Nurse Pierce (469-742-8307) or your pediatrician/family doctor.
With Gratitude,
Mr. Winkler

Information from
CDC website regarding chickenpox transmission:
Anyone who has not had the chickenpox or gotten the chickenpox vaccine can get the disease.
The classic symptom of chickenpox is a rash that turns into itchy, fluid-filled blisters that eventually turn into scabs. The rash may first show up on the chest, back, and face, and then spread over the entire body, including inside the mouth, eyelids, or genital area. It usually takes about one week for all of the blisters to become scabs.
