Palm Beach County Day
Your commissioners met in Tallahassee with legislators who can affect concrete changes in our district. While attending Palm Beach County Day, I met with the
Speaker of the House, the Secretary of the Florida Department of Transportation and several others to promote the county’s legislative agenda.

Transportation Meeting
We had an Engineering/Transportation Summit at Florida Atlantic University. As development increases in our county, transportation becomes a challenge. I invited the Secretary of the Florida Department of Transportation Kevin Thibault to meet with community leaders, county engineers, professors and students from Florida Atlantic University. Working together, solutions were discussed to alleviate traffic, congestion and aging infrastructure.

Jay DiPietro Way
There is one man whose legacy lives on for children with special needs. Jay DiPietro was a giant advocate for children. At his passing, I requested that the roadway at the Special Olympics Complex that leads from Lake Worth Road to the Boundless Playground be named in his blessed memory.

Hometown Hero
Ben Ferencz
Throughout Florida’s history, there have only been three instances where the Medal of Freedom was awarded. I requested that Gov. Ron DeSantis present this award to our Hometown Hero, Ben Ferencz. Living at Kings Point, Ben, 103 years old, is the sole surviving prosecutor from the Nuremberg trials.

Adopt-a-Shelter-Dog Month
There are too many of our furry friends who need a “furever” home. For this reason, I presented a proclamation declaring October 2022 as Adopt-a-Shelter-Dog Month. I will continue to promote “furever” homes in the Sachs Sentinel. Stay tuned. This special dog was adopted soon after he made his appearance at the Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners meeting.

Family Court Awareness Month
We all strive for justice in our judicial system, however, at times court decisions are rendered that negatively impact families. For almost 20 years, there has been a group that attends and observes proceedings to advocate for the rights of children. I sponsored a proclamation declaring November 2022 as Family Court Awareness Month.

Higher Education
Many students from our local Title I schools were guided in competing for and acquiring scholarships into top-tier universities. Opening the event that showcases Palm Beach County students to top-tier employers, I was impressed at the number of interested students.
