Memorial Day is a somber reminder of the sacrifices that so many Americans have made to keep our country free. Every year on Memorial Day, I join Veterans from all our past and present wars, along with their families and friends, to formally honor this vital national holiday.
Mayor Maria Sachs with Commissioner Marci Woodward, Barry Goldin, Cmdr. of VFW Post 10556, and local JROTC students.
Many thanks to The Veterans of Foreign Wars in East Boca Raton, under the leadership of Post Commander Barry Goldin, in light of their unwavering dedication and continuing support for our Veterans and our troops.
Today, let us remember to pay tribute to all of those brave souls who sacrificed everything for both our nation and our freedom.
Never let us forget all of those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice. As a Florida State Senator, I passed legislation honoring those who earned the Purple Heart.
Maria's father, Lt. Col. Russell F. Lorts (dec), United States Army Infantry - WWII and Vietnam.
On behalf of my family, my office, and the people of Palm Beach County, we salute you, we honor you, and we thank you for your service.
God bless America and all those who have so valiantly defended her!
