Tragedy in Dayton touches Community Action family
Lois Oglesby, 27 and mother of two children, a newborn and six year old, was one of nine killed in Dayton this weekend during the senseless tragedy that also left 27 injured. Her mother, LaSandra J., an employee of Miami Valley Community Action Partnership for over 23 years, has helped families in the Montgomery County area throughout her career. The agency is now collecting funds to not only cover funeral costs but also help in the long-term care of her grandchildren who lost their mother. >>> READ MORE
Statement regarding weekend attacks in Dayton and El Paso
COLUMBUS — The Ohio Association of Community Action Agencies extends our heartfelt condolences to the victims in Dayton and El Paso this weekend. We call on our Governor, General Assembly, and Congress to take action at both the state and federal level to protect our neighbors and children against these senseless acts of violence.

“Our government must stand up to those who threaten our citizens, including threats that are from citizens themselves,” said Philip E. Column: Americans are duty-bound to look out for one another

We know that rain is wet. We know that sugar is sweet.
