Expanded COVID-19 Testing for Albertans

All Albertans are now eligible for testing for COVID-19, whether they are symptomatic or not. Testing can be easily booked online by visiting  www.ahs.ca/covid . If using the Internet is not an option, 811 can book an appointment online for individuals who want to be tested.
Although testing can only determine whether a person has COVID-19 at the time of testing, and cannot determine whether someone has previously had COVID-19, or assess immunity to COVID-19, uptake of the expanded testing is important. It will provide us with a clearer picture of how well our public health measures are working to contain COVID-19, and help guide further progress in Alberta’s re-launch. Is Your Business Struggling?
There is Local Support
Airdrie Economic Development has recently launched the FREE Right for Business Support Program to connect Airdrie businesses with the critical advisors they need to remain resilient through the COVID-19 pandemic.
Support for Businesses
Regional Relief and Recovery Fund

Small businesses in our region impacted by COVID-19 pandemic can now apply for loans of up to $40,000 through the Government of Canada’s Regional Relief and Recovery Fund (RRRF). These partially forgivable loans ensure that businesses that do not qualify for the Canada Emergency Business Account (CEBA) receive help and support through this crisis.

Large business that will require more than $40,000 can apply directly to Western Economic Diversification RRRF
CBRN Small Business Relief Fund

Applications are now open for the Canadian Business Resilience Network Small Business Relief Fund. They are offering grants to Canadian small businesses that have been adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic to help them recover and support their resilience. These grants are made possible through the generosity of Salesforce and will be offered as a one-time payment of $10,000 to 62 businesses across the country. Applications are being accepted until Friday, June 12, 2020 at 8:00 p.m. ET.
Click here to watch a video from business owners across Canada sharing how a $10,000 grant would help their business remain resilient and prosper through the COVID-19 pandemic.
Changes to PPE Sourcing
As of July 1, businesses and non-AHS organizations will be required to access PPE directly through suppliers. Groups that have already received or submitted a request for PPE from the Provincial Operations Centre or Alberta Health Services can continue accessing supplies, subject to availability and for a fee, from May 25 until June 30.

Contact A & T Executives Safety Consultants at [email protected] or 403-912-4991 to purchase PPE locally.

Please let us know if you are a local PPE supplier by emailing: [email protected]
As businesses prepare to reopen or revamp their operations amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, there are numerous issues and challenges to consider. This toolkit prepared by the Canadian Chamber of Commerce’s Canadian Business Resilience Network is designed to provide guidance, or access to guidance, for business owners and senior managers responsible for re-establishing their operations while ensuring the health and safety of their staff, customers, suppliers and the general public is at the forefront.
The toolkit provides key information on government regulations, childcare availability, sourcing PPE, government financial supports and communicating to staff, customers and suppliers. The guide also includes links to a wide range of additional toolkits and resources prepared by members of the CBRN. Key sections of the guide will be regularly updated online to provide the most recent information available.
Please feel encouraged to share the link to the guide with your own networks. We are all in this together.
Support for Non-Profits
