Sanctuary Closure Upon Us
This Sunday: Final Service in Sanctuary
Sat/Sun, Feb. 2/3: First Services in Parish Hall
The final worship service in the Sanctuary before renovation begins will be this coming Sunday, Jan. 27, 2019. Our clergy and staff have planned a moving final service in our historic 119-year-old church.
Worship will begin in the Parish Hall on Saturday, Feb. 2 and Sunday, Feb. 3.
Everything in the Sanctuary will be removed during February and March, including our failing organ, all pews, the pulpit and everything from inside the altar and flower guild rooms. We will also remove the stained glass windows and reredos and crate them for safe storage during construction.
Formal construction is expected to begin April 1 and take approximately 14 months.
Countdown to Sanctuary Close for Renovation is On:

Parish Hall Readied
for Service as Sacred Space
The Parish Hall is being readied for its service as our sacred space while the Sanctuary undergoes seismic retrofitting and other work. Rev. Vicki has led a team of parishioners, including Cathy Haslem and Caroline Thompson, who have revitalized and freshened the space.

In addition, Sanctuary Readiness Project Manager Alyson Eyer-Delevett, along with the Project Facilities Committee, have been working feverishly to coordinate the new systems and equipment required for our Sojourn worship.  Included in the work has been:
  • New heating/air conditioning system, including ceiling fans
  • New sound system
  • New chairs
  • Painting, blinds
  • Preparing the kitchen for use by the altar and flower guilds
  • Repurposing the choir room as worship support area
Check out this photo album or the photos below to see some of the work.

Still Wondering Which Service to Attend? Time to Decide!
Beginning Saturday, Feb. 2 and Sunday, Feb. 3, the Parish Hall will be home to four worship services each weekend to accommodate all members of All Saints, our community and visitors.

Going from two services each Sunday to four spanning each Saturday/Sunday has required a lot of planning and logistical efforts. The Vestry extends its heartfelt thanks to our clergy and staff for their tireless efforts on behalf of the parish.

Here is the new weekend schedule:

Saturday Evenings:
Worship: 5 p.m.

Sunday Mornings:
Worship: 7:45 - 8:30 a.m.
Coffee Hour: 8:30 - 9 a.m.
Worship: 9 - 10 a.m.
Children's Sunday School: 10:05 - 11 a.m.
Adult Christian Education (ACE): 10:15 - 11 a.m.
Coffee Hour: 10 - 11:15 a.m.
Worship: 11:15 a.m. - 12:15 p.m.

Once you have chosen which service to attend and find that the one you've chosen seems overly full, feel free to mix/move to other services until you find what's right for you and your family. It's not been possible to predict how many will attend which service, so please be patient until everything is sorted out in the first weeks in the Parish Hall.

Joe Rawls Named All Saints Verger for Initial Sojourn Worship
Joe is shown here at right helping with ministry leader training.
What's a verger you ask?
Please ask Joe Rawls as he's been named by Rev. Aimee as All Saints' verger to ensure a smooth introduction to worship in the Parish Hall. A verger is a layperson who assists in the ordering of religious services. Joe will help answer questions from parishioners, lay leaders and visitors who need assistance as we begin worship in the Parish Hall for our Sojourn worship.
