DMH/DD/SUS wants everyone who uses services and supports in the public system to receive high quality, person-centered care. The annual Perceptions of Care survey tracks how people and families experience mental health and substance use services in our system.
Each year, DMH/DD/SUS partners with the state’s Local Management Entities/Managed Care Organizations and their provider networks to survey consumers about the care they receive. The 2024 Consumer Perceptions of Care results are now available on the DMH/DD/SUS website: 2024 Perceptions of Care Report. A few graphs are included below for quick reference.
The 2024 report includes responses from 5,698 individuals who received services. In this survey, respondents report positive perceptions across each of the following categories:
- Access
- Quality/sensitivity
- Treatment planning
- Outcomes
- Functioning
- Social connectedness
- General satisfaction
This data helps DMH/DD/SUS and its partners evaluate performance and identify areas for improvement. To help us with those efforts, we encourage you to make your voice heard! The 2025 Consumer Perceptions of Care survey will occur between August 11, 2025 and September 19, 2025. We want all individuals using mental health and substance use services to participate and share their experience.
Providers can help to administer the survey by going to the Community MH/SUS Client Surveys webpage.
