CareerConnect aims to open career pathway opportunities for students that lead to meaningful, high-paying growth industries like financial services and technology -- and we need your help!

The DPS CareerConnect Apprenticeship Program is an immersive, three-year experience in which students work for a company while attending high school and college. It’s an innovative approach to learning that accelerates careers and earning power for our kids, and we’re leading the nation with this initiative. Upon completion of an apprenticeship, students earn debt-free college credit, transferable workplace skills, a training wage and, in many cases, an industry certificate. Apprentices work through real-world challenges as they learn what it’s like to be a professional and gain skills in the workplace that are completely transferable.

As a newer program poised for expansion, we currently have hundreds of students who have expressed interest, but only have around 65 students serving as apprentices in the Denver metro due to limited apprenticeship slots available.

Our colleagues in DoTs, Human Resources and Financial Services have already found huge benefits to their team in investing in our DPS high school students as employees of their departments -- and you can, too! What they’re finding is apprentices are a great way to grow your talent pipeline, increase productivity and provide management opportunities to your team.

Get involved with this opportunity to bridge the gap between education and career.
