Snow Day Guidance for Central Office Team Members
As we shared, we have outlined our snow day policy for the 2020-21 school year. Please be sure to review those updates here

We wanted to share further guidance for those in the Central Office. Please know that if we have a single snow day, Central Office team members will join school-based employees in a traditional snow day and are not expected to work remotely that day. Operational team members who have responsibilities for snow clearance or building support, as well as those who have been notified that they are required personnel, should please continue their work responsibilities per their departmental snow-day guidance. 

If there is an extended stretch of severe weather during the week and we are not able to safely allow students to attend in-person school for multiple days, then Central Office teams will mirror our school-based staff in working remotely, starting with the second day of building closures. 

As a reminder, during any weather closure (whether a remote day or full closure), all DPS buildings will be closed to students and staff. 

We are continuing to watch the forecast for the winter weather approaching this weekend, and we will share updates about any snow days as soon as we’re able. In preparation for the potential severe weather, please advise team members who are working at a DPS building to prepare for the possibility of working remotely in the coming days.

2021-22 District Calendar Update
The district calendar options were presented and discussed by the board last week -- access the slides and recording of that meeting here. On March 18, the board will listen to open public comment regarding the calendar, and will vote to approve an option. Following the Board's approval, the English version of the calendar will be posted to the DPS website the following day (tentatively March 19). The calendar in all of the Consent Decree languages will be posted as soon as possible the following week.
2019-20 Years-of-Service Anniversary Pins Will Be Delivered Soon
In the next two weeks, departments will receive a packet including years-of-service pins for all active employees who celebrated a milestone year with DPS -- recognized in five-year increments (for example, five, 10, 15, etc.). Review an FAQ about the program. Due to the unique circumstance of this past year, we had to delay sending physical anniversary pins until now. Please note: These are for those who celebrated a milestone year in 2019-20. We apologize for any confusion this may have caused. We are preparing the 2020-21 years-of-service pins now and will send those to schools and departments as soon as possible.
