Fall Sports Update
The FHSAA official start date for fall sports is Monday, August 1st. For sport specific tryout information please visit www.neaseathletics.com.
Athletic Clearance
Prior to participating with a Nease High School athletic team, all students are required to complete the athletic clearance process.
Please keep in mind that the FHSAA requires all student athletes to view free NFHS video courses on concussions, heat illness, and sudden cardiac arrest (see instructions below). Signatures on the EL3 form indicate that your athlete has completed these three video courses. The FHSAA also requires that all student athletes have at least a 2.0 unweighted GPA to be eligible for participation.
Athletic Fee
The purpose of the Nease Athletic Fee is to help address the costs associated with operating a high school athletic department. Currently the St. Johns County School Board pays each coach’s coaching supplement, and all remaining costs are the responsibility of the Nease athletic department and teams. The athletic fee helps cover the following expenses:
- FHSAA & FACA membership dues and other fees
- Game officials
- Indoor and Outdoor Athletic Facility maintenance
- Sports Medicine
- Security
- Ambulance service
- Athletic Leadership Council activities
- Student-Athlete Letters and Awards
- Facility Rentals
- Assistance with costs for regional and state competitions (lodging, meals & travel)
The 2022-23 fee will be as follows: $75 Per Sport Played
The $75 Athletic Fee can be paid in two ways:

Girls Golf Tryouts:
Wednesday, August 3rd at 3:50pm at Slammer & Squire Golf Course

Swim and Dive:
Tryouts will be August 2nd-5th from 6:00am to 8:00am at Planet Swim. Proof of approved medical clearance required to tryout. You will also need a check for $300 made out to Golden Panther Booster Club (if you do not join the team for some reason, this check will be disposed of).
Swim & Dive volunteers needed for an upcoming opportunity to sell our merch and support the team on Saturday, August 6th from 10:00am to 5:00pm at the Palencia Publix.

Athletic Department Volunteers Needed
Nease Athletics is seeking a student volunteer to help produce a monthly newsletter. This is a great opportunity for student interested in athletic communication or digital design to gain valuable experience.
Nease Athletics is currently seeking student volunteers to serve as the Panther mascot. In addition, volunteers are needed to accompany the mascot during game days and at other appearances. Please email Heather Davis @ heather.davis@stjohns.k12.fl.us or stop by the front desk to discuss.
