Many interventions exist for autism spectrum disorder (ASD). However, scientific research has found only some of these interventions to be effective. The interventions that researchers have shown to be effective are called evidence-based practices (EBPs). The primary reasons for using EBPs are that the students demonstrate improved outcomes, the interventions are legally defensible, and the use of EBPs aligns with best practices in education. This training will provide the history of the identification of the EBPs for ASD and support the understanding and use of EBPs for individuals affected by mild-moderate ASD.
