Dear Evergreen Chamber Members,
What a whirlwind this last week has been as the onslaught of COVID-19 has hit our small mountain community. I wanted to let you know what resources we have for you as well as what we are working on to help our local businesses and community get through these next weeks together.
On the Chamber website there is a link to all of the resources our county and federal government have put out. I, along with the Conifer and Platte Canyon Chambers are part of an economic task force meeting daily to bring resources together for members. We have the following action steps for business to pass on.
Contact your bank to see what paperwork will be needed for you to apply for a small business loan should you need one, start collecting it.
Reach out to your insurance company to see if your policy includes Business Interruption Coverage.
Let your employees and anyone who needs to know that both the Mountain Resource Center and the Evergreen Christian Outreach Food Banks are open and will accept new clients-all services are by phone and drive up.
There is free food pick up for kids 1-18 at West Jeff Elementary School. Beginning Monday, March 16 until Friday, March 27, “Grab and Go” meals will be available for collection for Breakfast (8:00-9:00am) and Lunch (11:30am -12:30pm) Monday-Friday only
Last night, Governor Polis a temporary suspension of dine-in restaurants, gyms, theaters, clubs, casinos, and more, effective immediately for 30 days. Restaurants, shops, and caterers will be able to provide takeout and delivery service. The Governor has banned gatherings, effective immediately, of 50 people or more for 30 days.
The Chambers have launched a program called
You can find what deals are offered by going to the Chamber website and clicking on either Hot Deals or the Takeout Takeover button. We are continually adding to this list. If your business is not a Chamber member please email us what you have going and we will add it. Please share this to ALL your friends and FB groups.
- Later this week we will be launching a virtual online shopping event to promote Shopping Local in these challenging times. You will be able to purchase gift cards to many local businesses through the Chamber to be used over the next few months. One stop shopping and you will be able to pick up your set of certificates at the Chamber of Commerce Office rather than drive all over town.
- Our next challenge as a community will be related to mental health and the effects of social distancing. We will be starting up an additional task force to address that and will push information out to our community as we get it.
- Many of our members have offered free or discounted services for their fellow members. We will send those as they come. Feel free to use if you deem appropriate.
- If you or someone you know would like to make a straight out donation to help our community businesses you can do that through the Evergreen Chamber Community Fund, a 501 c3 that was set up after the floods of 2013. Checks can be mailed to PO Box 2710, Evergreen, CO 80437. A website with online donation capabilities is pending.
In closing, this is a time when our community will come together and be strong in support of each other. If you need anything or have ideas on how to help others please do not hesitate to contact me, email is best
