IIt is my honor to invite you to join me for our annual gala, "A Mardi Gras Knight," on March 2nd at 6pm. I'm excited to announce that this year's gala will be held in the St. Ambrose School Gymnasium, rather than the parish center. It makes sense that we come together to celebrate and support our school in the heart of where the magic of learning happens!
 
We will enjoy a New Orleans style evening of fellowship, food, entertainment, and...spending! The gala is a fun and creative way to raise funds for our school. You can show your support by bidding on great silent or live auction items. The gala typically brings in around $40,000 which contributes to field trips, items for classrooms, our teacher appreciation program, and upgrades to the school. This is a must attend event and I look forward to seeing you there! 
 
As they say in New Orleans, " Laissez les bon temps rouler" or, Let the Good Times Roll

What Can I Expect at the Gala?

white-mask-costume.jpg The night will start off with mingling with friends as you bid on silent auction and dessert auction items, and try your hand at our gift card grab bag and raffles. You may visit the bar for a beverage of your choice, and enjoy a selection of Cajun style entrees for dinner. There will be a formal end to the silent and dessert auctions and you will be asked to take a seat at your table for the live auction while you enjoy your dessert auction winnings. Following the live auction, you are invited to stay for dancing, socializing or relaxing before collecting your auction winnings to close out the night.

Hosting our gala in the gym offers us the ability to add one thing that our gala survey said you wanted most: DANCING! Put on your dancing shoes because Mr. An Cao has kindly agreed to donate time and equipment to set us up with some awesome tunes to cut a rug to, Mardi Gras style! In fact, we have extended the gala one hour to allow for more kicking up of our heels.
What Should I Wear to the Gala?
 
With our fun Mardi Gras theme this year, you have options. You might wear your finest masquerade ball-gown or tux, or go with Bourbon Street Carnival flare and wear jeans and beads! Or find your happy place in between. Wear what makes you comfortable and have fun deciding!

Early bird ticket sales are available now. You can send in your ticket flyer to the school office with cash or check, or pay by credit card online at: https://bit.ly/2SK8Hyp. Prices will go up on January 21 st and again on February 18 th . If you have questions contact rachelo.kramer@gmail.com.
50/50 Raffle

Feeling lucky? Buy some 50/50 raffle tickets! The winner takes home half the pot while the other half supports the
school. Tickets are $10 each or 6 tickets for $50 and the winner does not need to be present. I am asking all our students to help sell tickets and the top student seller will receive a prize. Look out for tickets to come home in the Wednesday folder. If you need additional tickets, contact Jen Charest at rugbyratch2@aol.com.
Dessert Auction

Calling all bakers! We need your delicious treats for our dessert auction at the Gala. Please use the form at the attached link to confirm your dessert donation. Return forms to the office or email dessert donation information to  julia.hecton@gmail.com.

Attend the gala! Your presence is golden and I promise you will have a Mardi Gras ball! Bring your friends, family members, business colleagues; anyone willing to attend a charity event. Kudos to Sue Bogan for bringing several big spenders last year! That's the way to raise funds for our school!
