AFFIRMATION

I am a myth maker.

I record my stories into the world.

In my actions, my movements, my every touch,

I open my heart.

I put my head together with yours.

I dare to make this a beautiful world.

CCL Choir News!

We had an exciting day on Sunday, when the CCL Choir sang for the first time to our community! Led by CCL Music Fellow and Choir Director Myra Maud, our choir members engaged in a soulful rendition of “Thank You For This Day” by Karen Drucker. After only two rehearsals, our choir members sang their hearts out! (Listen to the service video below to hear for yourself and you can fast forward to the 1hr 6minute mark for this performance, if you wish.)

One of Myra’s special gifts is to tailor our repertoire especially to our CCL community’s interests, both spiritually and musically. We are very excited that Myra is creating a tailored repertoire of songs, just for us! And, some of her songs are original creations special to CCL alone!

For the next five weeks, Myra will be on a performance tour in Europe, and during this time she will continue working with our Choir members online, in rehearsals and voice coaching sessions.

When Myra  returns in April, we will begin an intensive rehearsal schedule, and also will prepare for a community concert, of some form, in July.

Stay tuned for ongoing Choir news!

FOR CHOIR MEMBERS:

CCL will be in touch with you regularly, through emails, about virtual choir rehearsals with Myra.

If you are not receiving Choir News emails currently, please call our office right away, as this is how we can stay in touch with you about choir activities and rehearsals, especially during Myra’s upcoming performance tour.

Media Team Updates!

As we reported last week, we are upleveling our Media operations, to produce Sunday services that flow easily, smoothly, and quietly. Last Sunday was a beautiful demonstration of that vision!

Thanks to Deb Chamberlin, and her husband, Robert Wynn, we have purchased upgraded media equipment that meets our current sound and video needs, for our ministers and speakers, our musicians, our new CCL choir, our Zoom audience, and the recordings that we post on YouTube.

Funded from the same Foundation that is supporting our Music Fellow, Myra Maud, and our Choir, we used our new equipment the past two Sundays and we had great sound and video in the Community House, on Zoom, and also in our recording. We are so grateful!

We also have a talented new team member, John Stevens, who comes with years of professional experience in managing sound and video productions, and has joined as our Media Specialist. We are very excited for all of these new developments!

Keith Guenther is our new Team Leader. Dedicated to a collaborative approach, and working in concert with our ministers, musicians and media team members, Keith is bringing his own insights and skills to our media productions.

We give special thanks to Marty Levin. Marty has been a driving force and a dedicated leader for the Media Team, especially during this recent time of change and upgrade. Marty’s knowledge of media operations has been invaluable, and we are grateful that he continues to serve our community as a team member.

The Season for Peace and Nonviolence

January 30 to April 4

The Season For Nonviolence, launched at the United Nations in 1998, marks the annual 64 calendar days between the memorial anniversary of Mohandas K. Gandhi on January 30 and that of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on April 4.

The Season teaches that every person can move the world forward in the direction of peace through daily nonviolent choices and actions.

CCL celebrates this powerful annual tradition by sharing the following daily affirmations for contemplation and reflection each day for 64 Days.

AFFIRMATIONS FOR NON-VIOLENCE IN MY PERSPECTIVE OF OTHERS

Day 35, Mar 5: Today, I strive to understand and respect another culture.

Day 36, Mar 6: Today, I seek the light of divinity within all people, even in the appearance of darkness.

Day 37, Mar 7: Today, I take time to appreciate the people who provide me with challenges in my life, knowing they are providing me with opportunities to heal.

Day 38, Mar 8: Today, I learn a prayer or spiritual practice from another tradition that seems strange or different to me.

Day 39, Mar 9: Today, I KNOW and live my Unity with all living beings!

AFFIRMATIONS FOR NON-VIOLENCE IN DAILY LIVING

Day 40, Mar 10:  Today, I drive with tolerance and patience.

Day 41, Mar 11:  Today I appreciate my boss or my teacher.

Day 42, Mar 12:  Today I smile at all whom I see.

Day 43, Mar 13: Today, I treat the elderly I encounter with respect and dignity.

Day 44, Mar 14: Today, I treat all children with care, knowing that I serve as a model for them.

Day 45, Mar 15: Today, I listen with an open heart to at least one person.

Please use this period to reflect on how this Season for Peace and Nonviolence can make a difference in your life and the lives of your loved ones. For more information about the Season for Peace and Non-Violence, contact Mary or June.

Changes Ahead For CCL

Community House

CCL has learned recently from the Moorestown Community House leaders that they will be using the ballroom space, where we currently hold our services, for other purposes. As they continue to roll out their new vision and mission, CCL will continue its services here until the end of August, while opening now to new possibilities.

As we embark upon our search for a new Sunday home for CCL services, we invite all of you to share your ideas with us, if you know of spaces available that may be potential homes for us. Please feel free to speak to Reverend Christina, Reverend Paul, or Board members June Hament or Jane Hobson. We welcome your ideas, and we know that our next location is guided by the Divine!
