Hello from the President,
Special Haven is still moving along and we are so proud to be serving the community. This has been our toughest year as we lost several therapists that helped pay for our rent so we really dug into our savings. But this year has also been very amazing as we have had more and more families and teachers come into our training and our room has been in use almost everyday that we are open. We also, added a new service, children's chiropractic services through Dr. Brandon Roberts. So although things have been difficult, we are happy to be reaching more people this year and to have Dr. Brandon on board.
At our last board meeting we laid out our plans to keep Special Haven going and we are hoping that all our supporters can help. We are planning our 5th Annual Golf Tournament, on Saturday, October 8, at Roddy Ranch Golf Course and we hope that all of you can come out and either golf or just have dinner with us and help us raise money so we can keep our doors open. Please see the article on our event below.
Again, thank all so much for your continued support and please share this newsletter with anyone you know that has special needs children in East County.
Sincerely,
Vicky Dunn

Pediatric Chiropractic
by: Brandon Roberts
My new pediatric Chiropractic practice in Special Haven is going great, better than expected, in both the number of kiddos I'm already seeing and the results they are getting. After the first Perfect Storm presentation, I had about 10 children start under care. They have been under care for about 4 months now and every one of them have shown positive changes in their lives. All the kids who come in and see me can also spend time in the multi-sensory room before and even after

Challenger Bowling
by: Jude Byrne
Challenger Bowling League was started in 2005 by Ellie Tunnell and Jude Byrne at Delta Bowl in Antioch when they could not find a suitable bowling league for their children with special needs. Cindy Smith from Delta Bowl has supported the league from day one and has continued to help us grow. We started that first season with just 15 bowlers and have grown in recent seasons to over 70. We have four seasons a year, Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter which last for 10 weeks
