Senator McKoon currently works as an attorney for Crowley/McKoon. A Republican from Columbus, Sen. McKoon was first elected to the state Senate in 2010 for the 2011 - 2012 legislative term. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Furman University in 2001 and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Alabama School of Law in 2003.
In his work in the Senate, Sen. McKoon has earned the Consumer Champion Award from Georgia Watch and the Clean Water Champion Award from the Georgia Water Coalition. In 2013, Sen. McKoon was named an "On the Rise Attorney" by the Daily Report, an award given to up - and -coming lawyers under the age of 40 and a recipient of the inaugural "40 Under 40" Award by Maverick PAC, a conservative political action committee. He also earned an A+ from the Georgia Chamber of Commerce. He was also named to Leadership Georgia's Class of 2014.
Senator McKoon serves on the board of directors for the United Way of the Chattahoochee Valley, the Muscogee County Juvenile Drug Court, Big Brothers Big Sisters Association of Greater Columbus, and the Urban League of Georgia Greater Columbus. He is also a member of the Rotary Club of Columbus, the State Bar of Georgia, the Alabama State Bar, and the Knights of Columbus Council #1019 at St. Anne Church.
Jim Beck, Former Georgia Deputy Insurance Commissioner - Candidate for Georgia Insurance Commissioner

im and his wife Lucy reside in Carrollton, Georgia; they have one son, Jimmy Beck, Jr. Jim graduated from the University of West Georgia with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Marketing.
His experience in the insurance industry is comprehensive and multi-faceted. Jim's background includes working in an independent insurance agency, as well as serving for twelve yea
rs as public affairs director for a Fortune 150 property and casualty insurance company. His public service includes having served as Deputy Insurance Commissioner for the State of Georgia. Most recently, he served as Chief of Staff for the current Insurance Commissioner Ralph T. Hudgens. In his current role he oversees an operation that provides property insurance to those who are locked out of the open market. Jim is also a nationally known speaker who has addressed diverse groups ranging in size from 10 to 4,000.
With over 30 years as a professional presenter and coach in the field of organizational leadership, Jim has led sessions for a host of government and non-government clients. Jim
serves as President for the Georgia Christian Coalition. His work includes appearances on Fox, ABC and CNN. He serves as a guest editor for STAND UP GEORGIA, one of the top political news aggregates in the state, which shares information to help empower and embolden grassroots conservatism in the Peach State.
