Greetings!
The peaceful joy of Shabbat was once again interrupted by the intensifying developments in the Middle East. The Westchester Jewish Council sends prayers of peace and strength to the people of Israel, to the members of the IDF and our American armed services and to all those who seek an everlasting peace in the region and an end to terror.
In Westchester, our 120 member organizations are working diligently with our local elected officials and law enforcement to ensure safety in our Jewish community.
Thank you to our State, County and local police departments that have reached out to us and to our member organizations to ensure us of their vigilance in protecting our Westchester Jewish communities and institutions. The relationships and communication that have developed over years of our Westchester Jewish Council “Security Roundtables” have helped to ensure awareness and partnership. We also thank our partners at CSI and CSS, and others who work with the Council and so many of our member organizations. We encourage all our member organizations to refamiliarize yourselves of and follow your security protocols at this time.
We also wish to thank many of our elected officials who have reached out to offer support during this moment of uncertainty.

As tensions escalate and the potential for Iranian-linked retaliation in the Homeland remains a concern, CSI and CSS leadership will provide a timely intelligence overview, explain why the current threat environment requires heightened vigilance, and outline concrete, practical steps our community can take now. The hour-long program will cover how to identify pre-operational surveillance, strengthen daily security practices, handle suspicious mail or anonymous bomb threats, and effectively report suspicious activity to law enforcement, CSI, and CSS—including the launch of a new dedicated reporting email. With Purim approaching Monday—a holiday that brings large gatherings and increased visibility—we will also provide specific holiday security guidance to help institutions and families celebrate safely. The briefing will conclude with live Q&A and direct 24/7 contact information for follow-up.
