Kevin Brown graduated from Ryerson University (now known as Toronto Metropolitan University) in 2017 with a Bachelor of Civil Engineering, specializing in Geomatics. Kevin was exposed to the surveying profession at a young age by his father, an OLS. Following graduation, he spent a summer working at WSP in Oakville. The following year, he joined A.J. Clarke and Associates Ltd. in Hamilton (a division of Tulloch). Working at A.J.Clarke, Kevin was exposed to a variety of different aspects of surveying around the Hamilton area and beyond.

In January 2019, Kevin began the articling process under the supervision of Geoff Aldworth. After fulfilling his requirements, Kevin was sworn in on January 25, 2023.

Kevin would like to thank his family, friends, and all those who have taken the time to teach him the ins and outs of becoming a professional land surveyor. A special thank you goes out to Geoff Aldworth for the support he provided and for taking the time to answer any questions, as well as Nicholas Muth for his mentorship during the final preparations.
Geniphill Laomoc's journey toward becoming a licensed professional land surveyor was not a direct path toward a known goal. Despite having no prior background in surveying, Geniphill decided to switch majors to Geomatics Civil Engineering at Ryerson University, following a classmate's recommendation. While he was excited to learn, he didn't quite comprehend what he was getting himself into.

After completing his degree, Geniphill realized that the practical world of surveying was significantly different from the academic world. Fortunately, Geniphill secured an articling position at J.D. Barnes Limited, where he had the opportunity to learn from experienced professionals and gain extensive work experience. Over the next four years, Geniphill learned from his peers and mentors at J.D. Barnes and eventually became a Project Supervisor. He remains grateful to those who helped him along the way.

To quote a great man: "Success is like a sunrise, the longer you wait, the more beautiful it becomes." Geniphill's journey to becoming a licensed professional land surveyor wasn't an easy one, but his perseverance and patience paid off in the end. It is a testament to the fact that success is achievable through hard work and determination. The importance of this quote lies in the fact that success is not instantaneous; it requires dedication, perseverance, and patience, which are traits that Geniphill undoubtedly possesses.
Armin Asadi graduated in 2015 with a Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree and moved to Canada in the same year. In 2016, he began his surveying career as a Survey Technician at Geomaple Canada Inc., where he quickly discovered his passion for surveying. He found surveying an exciting field and realized it was his true calling.

In 2018, he joined Guido Papa Surveying (A Division of J.D. Barnes Ltd.), where he continued to grow his experience in surveying. He also enrolled at York University and Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University) to help fulfill his academic requirements.

In 2020, he started his articling under the guidance of Dacian (Nick) Popa, OLS. He fulfilled all the academic and statutory requirements for the completion of his articles; he was sworn in as an Ontario Land Surveyor on January 25, 2023.

Armin would like to thank his spouse Kiana for her support and encouragement. He would also like to thank his manager Valerio Papa OLS, his articling surveyor Nick Popa OLS, his colleague and friend Vinujan Aravinthan OLS and the rest of the team at JDB for their support and wealth of knowledge.
Isam Aziz graduated in 2018 from York University with a degree in Geomatics Engineering. Isam had gotten introduced to the field of land surveying while in the middle of his bachelor’s degree and hasn’t looked back since. Peter Dunsworth was introduced to opportunities in Geomatics at the Ontario Universities’ Fair and then began his studies at York University. While attending university as an undergraduate student, Peter was responsible for digitizing old member files at the AOLS and was given the opportunity of accompanying the SRD on some of their field examinations. In the spring of 2016, Peter accepted his first role with J.D. Barnes as a Summer Survey Assistant.

In 2018, Peter graduated from York University with a Bachelor of Engineering, specializing in Geomatics. Following his graduation, he commenced his articles in the fall of 2018 under the supervision of Gabe Laframboise. Subsequently, he completed all the requirements and was sworn in as an OLS on January 25, 2023.

Peter would like to thank his family, friends, and colleagues who helped him throughout the articling process. He would like to extend a “special thanks to Gabe Laframboise,” who hired him as a summer student at J.D. Barnes and mentored him as an articling student. Mariusz Urbanski graduated from the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn in 2003. Since then, he has been continuously working.
