Weekend Wellness, Part 3
Community Resiliency: The Real Deal on Toxic Stress and Racism
We're coming to you live and direct for a candid conversation exploring the real deal between toxic stress and racism on Saturday, April 24!

This Spring, the Office of School Wellness Programs partnered with Hip Hop Public Health (opens in new window) to host a free, three-part, monthly Saturday morning event series, "Weekend Wellness: Self-Care for Communities and Families" (opens in new window). Spread the word to families and caregivers in your school communities—especially our communities of color—and encourage them to join us for our last Saturday-morning event of the school year from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Join our final installment, "Community Resiliency," for a live conversation as we:

  • learn more about the signs and symptoms of toxic stress
  • break down the elements of racial bias and systemic racism
  • share ways to advocate for the well-being of families, caregivers, communities, and ourselves

Office of School Wellness Programs expert Dena Cox will join panelists Dr. Olajide Williams (the "Hip Hop Doc") and New York City hip-hop icon Chuck D. to deliver empowering messages of self-care.
The series engages families in school wellness to raise awareness around self-care skills and concepts central to PE and Health Education that benefit not only students but also their families and communities.
