Special Message for Cortland Community
March 23, 2020
Thank You
First of all, a big “thank you” to everyone in the Cortland community who participated in the pickup of instructional and technology materials on Saturday. The connections made during pickup were uplifting during this unprecedented time. We appreciate the gratitude and concern for our well-being which was consistently expressed. Families who were unable to pick up materials on Saturday are being contacted to make alternative arrangements.

Most of our faculty and staff are working remotely from home. We do have some essential employees who are ensuring that buildings and critical functions are maintained. We have forwarded most of the phones, but email is probably the best way to communicate. We’re maintaining working hours of 8 a.m. - 3 p.m. so you can expect to hear back from someone quickly within that window.
Distance Learning
Distance learning will continue as previously communicated. Most students have already been in contact with their teachers. The Distance Learning Portal will function as the primary communication point. We understand that not everyone has access to the Internet -- teachers are working to identify which students don’t have Internet access to make sure that everyone gets what they need.

If you have any photos of either your kids or your students doing work at home, please email the photo(s) to Angela Affronti . We are trying to showcase the hard work our students are doing on our social media sites with the the hashtag #DistanceLearningCortland.
Technology Help
Technology support for district devices and distance learning is available by sending an email to helpdesk@cortlandschools.org . You can expect someone to return your message from 8 a.m. - 3 p.m.
