The high-rise condos stood like shiny pearls on the pristine beaches of Miami-Dade. They were the first things you spotted when sailing into Biscayne Bay or flying into the Miami International Airport.
They were the essence of Miami. They made us proud.
We are accustomed to hurricane-force winds, torrential rain and king tides. So we were in great disbelief when we watched the tower collapse. This is inexplicable. A tragedy.
