May 11, 2 020
Dear Underclass Students and Parents,

I wanted to give you an update as to what the rest of this month is going to look like so that you can plan ahead.  As I have stated previously, even the best-laid plans can be negated by the minute, but hopefully, we will be able to continue on our current course to bring closure to this school year with the current social distancing requirements in place.  The calendar linked will highlight the last weeks of school.

Highlighted Important Dates

This Week:  May 11-15
Underclassmen Elective Days
This week will be the last days for a chapter/unit test, projects, or any other teacher requirements in ELECTIVE  classes.  Friday of this week will be the last day of class for these elective classes.

Students taking A.P. Exams:
The A.P. testing schedule began today, May 11 , and will continue until Tuesday, May 26 .  The A.P. teachers will continue to be available, so our students will be prepared. Also, please note the A.P Make-up schedule included in this email should a test be missed.

May 18-19-20
The following schedule will be followed for these three days. Only the two listed classes can have work due such as chapter/unit tests, projects, or any other teacher requirements.

Please note that students and parents will not have access to course grades and assignment scores in PowerSchool beginning Thursday, May 21  so that teachers may finalize grades.  Senior grades and transcripts and all other report cards will be posted on PowerSchool on June 15 .

Know how much we all appreciated the students and how they handled the locker clean-out and the return of library materials and athletic equipment.  They were perfect, and their efforts were most appreciated.

We are expecting the yearbooks at the end of May and are working on a plan to distribute to the seniors on June 1.  We will be in touch about yearbook delivery for the rest of the student body soon.  Remember that every student at St. Pius X automatically receives a yearbook, so you will all want to get your copy!

Again, please know that we feel your pain with the outcome of this year.  None of us have ever seen, or even able to envision a situation like this occurring, but know that you are missed.

With continued prayers for your health and well-being,
Steve Spellman
