Administration for Children and Families announces Tribal Consultation to take place Wednesday, June 10th and Thursday, June 11th

The Administration for Children and Families (ACF) announced its 2020 Tribal Consultation is taking place virtually on Wednesday, June 10 and Thursday, June 11, 2020 from 1:00pm – 6:00pm (EDT) each day. 

ACF includes programs that directly grant over $1 Billion in funds to Tribes and Native non-profits. This includes the Administration for Native Americans, the Office of Head Start, and the Office of Child Care, and programs such as Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF). ACF looks forward to hearing from Tribes directly how ACF programs are working in Tribal communities as well as the challenges that need to be addressed.

During the sessions, ACF officials will join Tribal leaders to discuss the following priority issues:

  • COVID-19 pandemic response and recovery
  • Access to early childhood initiatives
  • Combatting Missing and Murdered Native Americans
  • Anti-human trafficking efforts
  • Head Start
  • Child care
  • Grant policies for the Administration for Native Americans

Testimony
If you would like to testify orally, ACF asks that you indicate that in your registration and which program office(s) or topic(s) you would like to address so ACF can more easily identify speakers during the virtual consultation. If you are unable to submit your testimony before the consultation session, please be aware that ACF will also keep the testimony record open for 30 days after the date of the consultation. After that time, ACF will provide written responses to all testimonies received. Testimonies may be submitted to ANACommissioner@acf.hhs.gov .
