Budget for 2021
Your Vestry met on Monday evening and adopted a budget with a $28,000 deficit. The deficit is due to the fact that we have a decrease in the number of pledges and a corresponding decrease in income pledged. Also, the vestry decided that with the pandemic we cannot count on income from the Tour of Homes in 2021, nor can we guarantee much income from Penny’s Worth in the coming year. It is a realistic budget and we will strive to make ends meet. One thing that helps is that this year, with decreased expenses and the Federal PPP loan, we will end the year with a surplus of about $40,000. All in all, we should be fine; however, if you have forgotten to return your pledge card, or did not receive one, please let the treasurer know.
The annual meeting will take place on Sunday, December 27 following the 10 am service. The meeting will only last a few minutes as we will elect two new Vestry members, Karen Brown and Rick Watson, and vote to approve the annual reports you received by email a few weeks ago. Due to the pandemic there will not be any presentations, nor will refreshments be offered. Unfortunately, this meeting will be even shorter than last year’s meeting.
In order to use all of his vacation time, Eric+ will be on “vacation” from December 21 through the end of the year but since he can’t go anywhere, he will be at the rectory, and will still conduct all of the special and regular services (listed above).
This Special News edition of the Bay View replaces the regularly scheduled December 25 edition. Your Bay View will resume its bi-weekly schedule on Friday, January 8, 2021.
The Tour of Homes Auction Committee still has some lovely holiday gift items for sale in the church office. To shop by appointment, please call Rennie Edwards at 205-936-8124 or Ginger Lawson at 404-561-0919. Your purchase will benefit the Trinity's programs & services.
