Meeting the Challenges of Transition Together
If the weather over the last few days is any indication, then summer is upon us! Unfortunately, the heat and humidity may well be the only normal part of our summer at Trinity.

As we move into this period of transition, it will be necessary to make some adjustments in how and when we gather and worship. There is no doubt that you will all meet these challenges with an abundance of faith, good will and, hopefully, a healthy sense of humor!

Here are some things that we want you to know:
1.   Eric will be with us until roughly the end of June. Once the rectory is available, we are hoping to find an interim priest to serve us as we search for a full-time rector, but that may take some time. (We may need to furnish the rectory; does anyone have any extras to lend us?)

2.  The Rev. Martha Harris will be with us next Sunday, May 29, for our regular Eucharist service at 10:30 am.

3.   Since supply priests are scarce in our area, we will be using the Morning Prayer service in the Book of Common Prayer for most of the summer. It is a lovely, simple service that allows the laity to be active participants in worship. Please let one of us know if you have an interest in leading a service in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, if supply priests become available, we hope to celebrate the Eucharist once a month.

4.   While we will officially have only one service at 10:30 am, any group that wishes to gather at 8 am for Morning Prayer is certainly welcome to do so.

5.   We plan to search far and wide for our next priest. Many of you have connections to parishes in other communities and other parts of the country. If you have such a contact, we encourage you to reach out to them to let them know of our search. Networking may well be the key to finding a new rector for Trinity.

6.   As an aside, it would be nice if a few of you would like to consider hosting an abbreviated coffee hour (lemonade and cookies!) from time to time. It would give us an opportunity for fellowship that has been sorely missed over the past couple of years.

Thank you for your patience and understanding. We will continue to keep you up to date as things progress. Once again, your vestry welcomes your input on any of these matters.
