A Year of Mariachi Begins with

Disney's Mariachi Cobre at Viva Southwest!

The LCAC and MSU Denver are thrilled to announce that internationally renowned recording artists Mariachi Cobre will headline the 6th Annual Viva Southwest Mariachi Conference. We are partnering with Empowered, Colorado Youth Mariachi Program & Fiesta Colorado to co-host Festival Garibaldi for a weekend celebrating Mexican music, dance, food, & entertainment!

We proudly welcome musicians of all ages and backgrounds across armonia & guitarrón, trumpet, violin, and voice. Led by Mariachi Cobre and Master Educators including Dr. Jeff Nevin and Dr. Lorenzo Trujillo, workshops promise enriching experiences for all participants.

The weekend features free and paid activities on Auraria Campus, suitable for the entire family and community. Highlights include workshops, Mariachi and dance performances, and a concert with Mariachi Cobre at the King Center. Join us for a vibrant celebration of Mexican culture!

All-State Mariachi Estelares Auditions NOW OPEN

Thirteen exceptional students will be chosen to learn and master advanced Mariachi musical scores. This is a unique opportunity to perform and open for the headlining act at the Viva Southwest Mariachi Festival in September 2024.

Festival Garibaldi is a free community festival inspired by the famous Garibaldi Plaza - Mexico City's Mariachi Mecca. The celebration will include over 25 Mariachi and Ballet Foklorico performances, a free community concert, and a Mariachi jam session.
