SPECIAL NOTICE:
Overnight tonight, Thursday, August 12th and into the early morning hours of Friday, August 13th, work will occur on Church Street near South Frontage Road and on College Street near South Frontage Road.
This work involves closure of a lane, lane striping and the installation of street signs. While this work will cause some noise, it is anticipated to be limited to noise from trucks driving and backing up, as well as the relocation of some traffic barrels. This work is being done at night when there is much less traffic for safety reasons-- the additional lane closures required to get this work done would inhibit access to and from Yale New Haven Hospital.
OVERVIEW:
Church Street, between MLK Blvd. and South Frontage Rd., will be reduced from two lanes to one lane in the southbound direction only. Other than this, there will be no changes to the existing traffic pattern over the next two weeks.
As a reminder, South Frontage Road will remain closed between College and Church Streets and single-lane closures will continue to occur throughout the project area.
The Service Drives, which provide access between Interstates 91 & 95 and the Air Rights & 101 College Street parking garages also remain in a temporary, shifted configuration.
Various single-lane closures will occur throughout the project area.
- Please see immediately below for information on the single-lane closures to occur over the next two weeks.
- Please see further below for information about navigating the closed portion of South Frontage Road & the temporary configuration of the Service Drives.
