Statement from Securitas
In January, in partnership with Glenmore’s Security Committee, Securitas identified a number of serious deficiencies in the safety and security program at Glenmore. These deficiencies were addressed with all Securitas officers at the Glenmore site. In an effort to correct the problems which had been identified Securitas initiated retraining of everyone involved, including retraining on the new technology added to the security program. Personnel were given improvement plans and deadlines for meeting goals.
Unfortunately, despite allowing from January to July to see improvement, those deficiencies remained. Securitas believed that the problems put the safety and security of the Glenmore community at risk.
Very reluctantly, because of awareness of the many personal and longstanding relationships involved, the decision was made that there was no reasonable alternative to making adjustments to staffing to correct the problems. Please understand that as an employer there are certain things which, by law, we are required to keep confidential. Please also note that we are required by contract and law to adhere to professional standards that will maximize the safety and security of the Glenmore community.
While we of course recognize and value relationships of the staff with the community—and these were considered in the decisions made—our primary focus in balancing these interests must always be on the side of better safety and security for the Glenmore community. Securitas does not make such decisions lightly and every decision was made with the safety and security of the Glenmore residents in mind.
