In accordance with the Ontario Chief Medical Officer of Health, we will be temporarily closing the ROM to the public, effective November 23.

The health and safety of our staff, volunteers and visitors remains our top priority. We will continue to follow the recommendations of our public health officials and look forward to opening our doors again once it is safe and responsible to do so.

Calling all kids and teens!

Your children can help the ROM create a portrait of life during the pandemic that reflects their unique experiences. Share their stories and perspectives through original, creative works of art and capture history while it’s being made.

The COVID-19 pandemic has been a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and it’s had a profound effect on how kids and teens learn, play, create, communicate, and so much more. Your children can help make sense of this moment and shape how it goes down in history – and how it will come to life in a new exhibition.

We ask kids and teens to submit their their original artwork, for a chance to be displayed in a new, crowd-sourced, ROM original exhibition this coming fall.

Consulate General of Israel in Toronto event
Thursday, April 29 | 7:30 pm to 9 pm
Online program. Registration required.

In celebration of Earth Day 2021, the Consulate General of Israel in Toronto & Western Canada is pleased to announce the participation of internationally-acclaimed filmmaker Yonatan Nir in an exclusive moderated discussion on his documentary film Picture of His Life.

Picture of His Life follows the journey of world-renowned underwater wildlife photographer Amos Nachoum in his pursuit to photograph a polar bear up close, while swimming with it; a feat incredibly dangerous and nearly impossible, Nachoum is the only underwater wildlife photographer in the world to attempt (and succeed at) this shoot – with the help a few local Inuits. The film also reminds viewers of the changes and disruptions these polar bears experience in their ecosystems due to climate change, and stresses the importance of preserving it.

This program has been organized in partnership with the Royal Ontario Museum.

Your generous support of the ROM helps bring transformative experiences of art, culture and nature to life at Canada’s world museum.
