Good Evening Special Olympics Florida – Sarasota County,

My name is Bankole Adebanjo and I am the West Coast Regional Director of Special Olympics Florida. Please join me in extending best wishes to Maggie Riggall, who has announced her retirement from Special Olympics Florida – Sarasota County.

Maggie has provided over 20 years of devoted service to Special Olympics Florida and the athletes she has served. Maggie’s attention to detail, while keeping the broader picture in mind has been invaluable. Her willingness to go the extra mile for Special Olympics is well documented and her passion will be sorely missed.

With this news, I am excited to announce that Maggie will remain with the program as the Competition Chair on the Volunteer Management Team. Her expertise and knowledge will be a great asset during the leadership transition.

To ensure there is minimal interruption to scheduled events and competitions the search for her replacement will start immediately. In the interim I will be the County Director until the position is filled. Please do not hesitate to contact me, or Nancy Raney, who continues in her role as Program Supervisor for Special Olympics Florida – Sarasota County. I can be reached directly at 4079139728  if you have any questions or comments. The state office and I will utilize every available resource to ensure our programs and athletes have what they need during this time.

To keep everyone involved in the transition we will be holding a Community Town Hall Meeting next Wednesday, September 27 th from 6:00pm to 7:00pm at the Gene Whip Center. This invitation is open to all members of our program. We hope to see many of you there. Please see additional Town Hall details below.
