Re: Continuing to monitor COVID-19
As we continue to enjoy the warm weather, we also need to continue to be vigilant in reducing the spread of the COVID-19 virus. With most of our Special Olympics Ontario programs currently training and competing outside, this reduces the opportunity for the virus to spread. But does not eliminate it completely.
We ask all Special Olympics Ontario members to review the Infection Prevention and Control Measures that we have established. These measures are in place to ensure minimal spread of any contagious viruses and to help keep our members healthy. In addition, each individual should monitor the COVID-19 prevention guidelines that are established by their local municipality, health unit or facility (if any).
Face coverings are no longer mandated by Special Olympics Ontario. However, we do encourage you to wear a face covering if you feel the need to.
We are no longer required to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination status to attend training sessions, events or competitions, however, we do encourage our members to continue to update their booster vaccines as they become available. If you are unsure how to book your booster vaccine, please visit our Healthy @ Home website by CLICKING HERE.
Remember: IF YOU FEEL UNWELL, STAY HOME!
If you think you have COVID-19 or you have tested positive for COVID-19, please contact your local health unit to receive guidance on how to prevent the spread of the virus.
