Celebrate the Movement on October 23rd!

Meet Kevin and Andrew Breede, who have been participating in Special Olympics for over 6 years. This past summer, in partnership with Slim Possible, located in Middletown, they created a health drink "Shark Juice" to sell and raised over $1600 for Special Olympics RI. Why did they do this? Kevin and Andrew shared their answer with us, "Special Olympics offers an inclusive environment for people of all abilities to lift each other up in spirited competition. We feel lucky enough to be part of this community and felt it our responsibility to give back with including our community outside of the Special Olympics. We feel lucky to have had the opportunity to support the platform that lets us compete in the sports we love."

Kevin & Andrew have competed with their local program in volleyball, soccer, swimming and track & field. Recently, Kevin competed in the Amica mini-marathon with our President & CEO, Ed Pacheco.

Celebrate the Movement Video Message Two by Special Olympics RI athlete, Ryan Fleming

Meet SORI athlete, Ryan Fleming who has a message to share with you on why we need your support for Celebrate the Movement.

Ryan Fleming was an athlete coach for the basketball team that competed at the 2022 USA Games in Orlando. The team played in the top division against some strong competition at the Games and won a Silver Medal in the final game.

What an incredible opportunity for these athletes, only made possible by the generous donations from our Rhode Island community.

Experience Inclusion With Us!

Join runners and walkers throughout the state for a 5k Run, 5K Walk or a Casual Stroll on Sunday, October 23rd at Garden City Center. The funds raised from this event will benefit over 3,000 Special Olympics Rhode Island athletes. Your generosity will help build champions on and off the playing field and through the power of sport, individuals with intellectual disabilities discover new strengths, abilities, skills, and success. You

can transform the lives of our athletes by REGISTERING ONLINE TODAY!.

Registration for 5K runners will close online at 2pm on Friday, October 21st.

Runners can still still register the day of the event, beginning at 8am.

5K Walkers and Stroll participants can continue to register online throughout the weekend and create their online fundraising page.
