Details:
Three-hundred students who are part of the RCSD's Extended School Year (ESY) program are celebrating with the Special Olympics tomorrow morning. Special Olympics is bringing local sports teams to volunteer and assist students who will participate in basketball skills and carnival-type activities.
An opening ceremony and a parade will begin at 9 a.m., with activities running from 9:45 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. A closing ceremony will be held on the baseball field at 12:45 p.m.
The District's ESY program is for students in grades K - 6 and 9 - 12. It extends the school year for scholars who have 12-month Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), which support students in need of continuous engagement and learning.
