Brookfield Craft Center invites you to meet Colin Harrison and get a guided tour of the current exhibit in our Lynn Tendler Bignell Gallery "Home and Away: The Photography of Colin Harrison" on Saturday, June 24 from 2 - 4 PM.

The exhibit features photographs comparing and contrasting the areas surrounding Harrison's homes in Brookfield, CT and the Swiss alpine village of Lauterbrunnen. Come see familiar scenes of the intimate and colonial history of New England side by side with the magnificence of the ancient glacial valleys and mountains of the Junfrau region of Switzerland.

About the artist: Colin Harrison grew up on the North Sea coast of England and studied engineering and physics in London and Munich. He worked as an engineer in Geneva, London, San Jose, Yorktown Heights, and Zurich and is now "retired" in Brookfield, CT. Photography has been a passion since he received a Kodak Brownie at age 7. Since retiring he has presented works at galleries in Connecticut and Awitzerland, winning prizes in juried shows at the University of Connecticut Stamford and the New Canaan Carriage Barn Gallery. His work is also part of the permanent collection of the Commune of Lauterbrunnen, Switzerland.
