For several years, the diocesan Reparations Commission has encouraged congregations to attend this moving experience and tribute that explores the African/African American experience in the United States.
The theatrical performance, situated in the sanctuary of St. Paul Community Baptist Church, is presented by members of the congregation, affiliate organizations and individuals who share their amazing talents of singing, dancing and storytelling of the trials and tribulations of the Black experience. More specifically,
The MAAFA Suite…A Healing Journey, the centerpiece of the church’s annual commemorative program, is appropriately described as transformative theatre or sacred psychodrama and is historical theatre at its best. It brings to the forefront of the American public a story that places the history of this nation in its truest perspective and offers an opportunity for all people to understand the nature of the oppression inflicted upon generations of Africans in America.

The Reparations Commission has allocated funding for tickets to sponsor congregational groups to attend. Funding is available on a first come, first served basis.
