The Church of the Transfiguration

Together we shine forth with the love and light of Christ Jesus.

Special Easter Photo Issue

In case you were not able to be with us on Easter Sunday we thought you might enjoy seeing some of the photos from the morning. And anytime you can't be with us, you can view the service on YouTube. Click Here.

The day began in the Forest Chapel.

The brass planter was created by Doug Bowman and survived the storm.

In the Sanctuary

The Altar Guild decorated the church with wreathes on the windows and lilies at the altar. Everyone was encouraged to take a lily home after the service.

Stained Glass Window

Maria Flater is the artist who created the stained glass window in the sanctuary. Maria is from Baltimore, Maryland, and a first cousin to Kathy Boff. Her interest in glass art started in 1979 as a hobby. Maria eventually had her own business, and began creating commissioned work and selling to galleries. She continued to hone her skills through advanced education, including work at Corning Glass. Maria now has a home studio where she experiments with mosaics and fused glass projects, many times inspired by nature. Kathy dreamed of a window piece that would create a better view at the altar and reflect our setting here in the gorge. She knew her cousin could create a statement window that we all could appreciate. Kathy and Mike are happy to share this window, and Maria's artistry with our church.

The Children's Sunday School group made a banner for Easter

The service began with a prelude sung by Evelyn Thatcher.

The Easter Egg Hunt

Easter Sunday and our Lenten Bearing Witness Project

Reminder about our Lenten “The Bearing Witness Project.” Please plan to bring these cards back to the church with you on Sunday (if you forgot to bring them on Easter). They will be kept private, and offered back to God as part of our liturgy by leaving them in a basket as you head to communion.
