In a few days, we will celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He is the One who brings light, hope and peace into this world. With this in our heart, I have been greatly disturbed by the images of violence and hopelessness in the Middle East. As followers of Christ, we know the power of prayer in transforming the world. Thus, on Christmas Eve, I respectfully ask our churches to add the people of Aleppo and all Christians in the Middle East to the list of their prayers. As followers of Jesus Christ in the Episcopal Diocese of Pennsylvania, we pray for peace, safety, hope, healing and love. I ask our Diocese to lift up our faith in prayer.
The Rt. Rev. Daniel G. P. Gutierrez XVI Bishop of The Episcopal Diocese of Pennsylvania
