Special Salute to Our Veterans
Serving epilepsy patients from Fresno to Monterey to the Oregon border

Epilepsy Centers of Excellence (ECoE)
MISSION: Improve the health and well-being of Veteran patients with epilepsy and other seizure disorders through the integration of clinical care, outreach, research, and education.

Did you know traumatic brain or head injury is a common cause of seizures and epilepsy?

At the San Francisco Center ECoE, a range of services in both the outpatient and inpatient realms are offered. Weekly outpatient epilepsy clinics with a staff of three neurology specialists are available. From these clinics, patients can be directed to the most advanced testing methods for the evaluation of epilepsy, including magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), electroencephalography (EEG), and video monitoring. For those patients that require more intensive testing or attention, the ECoE also runs an inpatient unit for examining certain seizure types more closely or changing medications in a monitored setting.

If you are a veteran with seizures and are interested in visiting the Epilepsy Center in San Francisco, please communicate with your local primary care physician. This doctor will be able to determine if you might benefit from the center, and can help set up a visit. If you are already a patient at the ECoE center, call 415-379-5599.
